OPERATIONS GUIDE

Stock Exception and Trouble Station Flow

A BEWMS stock exception means the physical picking step cannot be completed safely. The system does not mark a missing or unverifiable item as picked; the affected step waits for resolution.

1. What STOCK_EXCEPTION means

STOCK_EXCEPTION is the technical exception state used especially when the target-rack item is missing and no other rack has verifiable available stock.

On the operator side it appears as Stock Exception / No available stock on another rack.

2. What Trouble Station does

The affected step is separated from normal picking and handled as waiting for Exception / Trouble Station resolution.

The goal is not to force the picker to guess an inventory correction, but to investigate the difference between the physical warehouse and WMS records.

3. What to check during resolution

  • Is the primary or alternative barcode mapped to the correct product?
  • What do Stock & Rack Inventory and the physical location show?
  • Do recent Stock Movement Ledger entries explain a receipt, issue, rack change or putaway?
  • Is there real available stock on another rack?
  • If the item is damaged, was it separated through the damaged-item flow?

4. What is not done automatically

Creating an exception does not automatically move stock, rewrite inventory quantity or mark the missing unit as picked.

If replenishment advice exists, it is a separate decision-support result; the advice itself is not a physical stock movement.
