1. Balances and movement ledger
Warehouse Products (Balances) shows current product stock. Stock Movement Ledger is the audit trail for the movements that changed that stock.
2. Rack and location truth
A product being “in the warehouse” is not enough for picking. BEWMS also needs the operational location. Keep rack barcodes and physical labels aligned with WMS locations.
3. Receiving and putaway
Receiving confirms inbound stock; putaway moves it to the physical location used by the warehouse. A received product may still be waiting for a pickable rack.
4. Final Processing Racks
Final Processing Racks are controlled handoff locations between picking and downstream operations such as packing/shipping. Rack barcode, rack name and capacity identify the physical handoff point.
5. Investigate a stock mismatch
- Verify the product by barcode/SKU.
- Review the Stock Movement Ledger.
- Review receiving and rack movement activity.
- Check barcode ownership.
- Check whether an active order operation is holding the quantity.
