How Replenishment Advice Works

In BEWMS, replenishment provides decision support when stock exists in the warehouse but there is not enough quantity in a pickable location to satisfy the order. The current flow produces advice; it does not perform the physical stock movement by itself.

1. When it appears

When an order is waiting because of location availability, BEWMS can request replenishment advice for the affected item. This does not necessarily mean there is no stock; stock can exist outside a suitable picking location.

The order detail can show an Smart Replenishment block when advice is available.

2. What the advice contains

  • Required quantity: what the order needs.
  • Pickable quantity: usable quantity currently available in pickable locations.
  • Missing quantity: the gap that must be supplied for picking.
  • Safe source stock: quantity considered available in the source area.
  • Target rack: the suggested picking location to replenish.
  • Potential orders: how many orders may become operational if the suggestion is applied.

3. Example advice

If source stock and a target rack are suitable, BEWMS can display advice in the form MAIN_WAREHOUSE → target rack · X units.

If a safe target cannot be produced or source stock is insufficient, the UI can show that no suitable rack exists or source stock is still required.

4. Important: advice is read-only

Smart Replenishment is currently read-only advice. Seeing a suggestion does not mean a stock transfer has already happened.

The physical move and WMS stock/location movement must still be completed and verified through the relevant warehouse operation.

5. Impact on the order

The purpose is to show which inventory movement can make waiting orders pickable.
