OPERATIONS GUIDE

When Does Order Readiness Change?

BEWMS does not release an order to picking simply because it arrived from a sales channel. Product quantity, pickable location and active operational claims are evaluated together, so stock-waiting and location-waiting orders can be blocked for different reasons.

1. Order waiting for stock

If the required quantity cannot be covered by free pickable stock, the order can wait for stock. BEWMS considers live pickable stock and existing picking claims rather than relying only on the headline inventory balance.

The order detail can show a line such as X units waiting for stock for the affected item.

2. Order waiting for location

Even when an item exists in the warehouse, a location blocker can occur if there is not enough quantity in a suitable pickable rack.

In this case replenishment advice can show required, pickable and missing quantity together with safe source stock and a target rack.

3. Becoming pickable

When the order's required items are available in sufficient quantity and in verifiable pickable locations, the picking flow can open.

Readiness is not simply the total number on a product card; physical location and active operational claims also matter.

4. Where to check

  • Warehouse Orders shows the current operational state.
  • Stock Bottleneck isolates the item or location that is blocking the order.
  • Stock & Rack Inventory verifies the product/location state while the Stock Movement Ledger explains how the quantity changed.

5. How to use AI explanations

ROVILÄ Assistant can explain why an order is waiting in stock or location context.

AI is decision support; physical inventory, rack records and barcode verification remain the operational source of truth.
